The perioperative management of dermatologic surgical patients is reviewed, including antibiotic prophylaxis, blood thinners, cardiac devices, and preoperative assessment.

C. Otley, MD
Clark C. Otley, MD is the Chair, Division of Dermatologic Surgery, Department
of Dermatology, Mayo Clinic Rochester, MN. He is Vice Chair of Research
for the Department and an Associate Professor of Dermatology at Mayo
Medical School. Dr. Otley majored in Religion at Williams College, attended
medical school at Duke University, interned at Brigham and Women's Hospital,
and served as a resident and chief resident in Dermatology at Massachusetts
General Hospital. After a fellowship in Mohs surgery at Mayo Clinic,
he joined the staff at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Otley is active in dermatologic
surgery and has a particular interest in skin cancer in transplant patients,
as well as the optimal management of perioperative issues.
