Venous insufficiency is the most common cause of ulcers in the western world. This lecture discusses the diagnosis, investigation and treatment of this common problem.

Dr. Robert A. Norman is the chief physician and owner of Dermatology
Healthcare, founded in 1994 to provide skin and wound care services
for Florida nursing home patients. The company now services over 500
nursing homes and ALF’s. Dr. Norman also has a private practice in dermatology
and trains medical students and residents. He is a faculty member of
Nova Southeastern Medical School in the department of internal medicine,
division of dermatology. He has lectured on Geriatric Dermatology at
numerous meetings and events and also heads the International Society
of Geriatric Dermatology.
He had his book Geriatric Dermatology published in March 2001, co-edited the book Clinical Geriatrics in 2003, and has written over 100 articles for the lay and medical press including the Journal of the National Academy of Sciences and Discover magazine.
