Symposium

In this symposium, Drs. David Hogg, Arthur Sober, Hensin Tsao and Jan Wong discuss current management issues surrounding the care of melanoma patients. Illustrative cases serve as the starting point for much of the discussion among the panel and between the panel and the audience.
Part 1 touches upon resection margins for melanoma, pregnancy and melanoma, the role of genetic testing in the familial melanoma patient and the role of sentinel lymph node biopsy. In Part 2, the panel participants consider atypical Spitz tumors and general concepts for follow up and surveillance.
The session was recorded under the direction of Dr. George Martin at the Advances in Cosmetic and Medical Dermatology /Hawaii 2005 meeting that took place from January 22nd through the 28th.

Dr. David Hogg is Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Medical Biophysics at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Arthur Sober is Professor of Dermatology at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Hensin Tsao is the Clinical Director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Melanoma Genetics Program.
Dr. Jan Wong is a surgical oncologist at the University of Hawaii and the Cancer Research Center of Hawaii.
