Alan Fleischer,
Jr., MD
Alan Fleischer is a Professor and Chair of Dermatology at Wake Forest
University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, N.C. and a practicing
dermatologist. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree summa cum laude
and then subsequently completed his medical education at the University
of Missouri-Columbia, where he was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha. He
completed his graduate medical training at the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill.
He has received
numerous honors, awards and grants including a listing in the Best Doctors
in America, (Woodward-White, Inc.). He has authored or co-authored five
dermatology textbooks. He has also published over one hundred fifty
papers in peer-reviewed dermatology journals. He has spoken nationally
and internationally on his quality of life, clinimetric, and itch research,
and has consulted with major pharmaceutical companies on clinical study
design and implementation. Dr. Fleischer is on the Editorial Board of
the Archives of Dermatology. He is affiliated with numerous professional
organizations including the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society
for Investigative Dermatology, and the European Academy of Dermatology
and Venereology.
